Chevron Baby Blanket

I made this for a close friends baby shower. She loves chevron and baby’s room is grey, yellow, and blue with a slight forest animal theme. She also makes a baby blanket for anyone in her life that has a baby, so I HAD to make one for her first baby.

Of course, that baby shower has come and gone and baby is here now (born mid-February 2021) .. hopefully enjoying all of the cozy blankets that were stitched up for him. I am just lazy about posting stuff…

This is just your standard 6 stitch chevron with 10 peaks. Multiples of 14 + 2 at end of each row = 142 stitch foundation chain. This whole blanket is hdc (half double crochet aka: my favorite stitch)

I used a variety of yarn brands to get the colors the way I wanted. This is also a crib sized blanket (ie; it is basically the same size as a crib mattress) instead of the standard infant size because I always found that size more useful.

Color pattern and yarns used:

3 rows Big Twist Worsted White

2 rows Big Twist Worsted Pale Yellow

1 row white

2 rows Red Heart SS Bright Yellow

1 row white

2 rows Mainstays 100% Acrylic Grey

1 row white

2 rows Red Heart Soft Charcoal

1 row white

2 rows Big Twist Worsted Sky Blue

1 row white

2 rows Loops and Threads Impeccable Clear Blue

Go make one 😉
