American Girl Sewing: Sweet Summer Dress

Since it’s a rainy gloomy day here in Jersey, and miraculously my house is not a complete disaster, I decided to sew!

I drafted up a quick summer sheath, very similar to the ones I made my girls last summer.

It is basically an extended shirt bodice. It is half lined and turned with the lining so topstitching is not necessary. I added a scooped hem at the bottom for cuteness and a dot of touchtape at the neck to close. This took me about 35 minutes to complete, the hardest part is turning it out through the narrow shoulders!

Super cute, quick and easy. Perfect for summer.

Happy sewing!
