I made this awesome little magnetic hanging glass case for my mother back in January for her birthday – and totally forgot to take pictures! I hate it when I do that, SO many times I forget to take photos of things I give away as gifts! grrr Anywho, I was down at her house yesterday and took some crummy ones of it with my phone.
This was a super easy project. Seriously only took me about 15 minutes from start to completion. I made my template out of a rectangle 13 inches wide by 4 inches long, folded it in half and shaped the magnet end how I wanted it to look with a 1/4 inch seam allowance.
I laid out some thick felt iron on interfacing and two layers of the John Deer fabric, making sure the print was lined up the way I wanted it and cut it out. Next I ironed the interfacing to the side that would be facing front and sewed both pieces up right sides together leaving the bottom open. Then I turned it right side out, slipped the super strong round magnet up inside, zigzagged some green FOE (fold-over elastic) down the length of the opening and finished up the sides.
Mom loves it!
